The SMRI Asphalt Surfers have been racing Supermoto at Sandia Motorsports Park in Albuquerque for five years now and are the only club in New Mexico that has a Supermoto championship series. The SMRI club is AMA sanctioned and has been around for over seven years. In 2009 we will have two classes and seven races with fourteen heats to determine our champions in each class.
The race dates are set for 2009 and all races will be at the Sandia Motorsports Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
We'll have supermoto practice every Trackday. SuperMoto sessions will be incorporated in the Trackday program. SuperMoto riders will be allowed to run the usual road course throughout the day. In addition, the full "Sumo" course will be set up during the luch hour and again at the end of the day. All Moto riders get a chance to slide it in the dirt as well as on the pavement.
There will also be SuperMoto practice on race weekends. On Saturday right after the riders meeting and during the lunch hour. On Sunday we will have practice right after the riders meeting (8:30-9:00)
Must have SMRI race license or other valid race license. (SMRI licenses can be purchased for one day $40 or they are prorated as the year passes) 2 heat race fee $70 inc. A.M. practice. And transponder rental fees.
